Accreditations

Law Society accreditation schemes help demonstrate expertise and are awarded to practices and individuals who have shown, to the satisfaction of the Law Society that they have and will maintain a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice in family law.

The schemes promote high standards in legal service provision and ensure that clients are easily able to identify legal practitioners with proven competency and they also ensure that scheme members maintain relevant standards of competency and expertise by means of periodic reselection, re-accreditation, and re-authorisation.

Accreditation is a dynamic process and members are actively engaged in shaping and directing the development of each scheme, sharing best practice and contributing to standards.

At Prism Family Law, we hold the following accreditations:

Prism Family Law Solicitors Family Law Accreditation

Further details can be found within the Law Society Family Law Accreditation guidance (PDF 157kb).

Prism Family Law Solicitors Children Law Accreditation

The Law Society’s Children Law Accreditation covers all types of children law work.

Accredited members will have shown, to the satisfaction of the Law Society that they have and will maintain a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice in the area of children law and the representation of children.

All accredited Children Law practitioners also agree to follow the Law Society Code of Practice for Children Law (PDF 50kb). The code outlines the standards of practice and conduct expected of accredited members throughout their accreditation.

The Children Law Accreditation provides a recognised quality standard for practitioners representing children in children law proceedings and is a means of identification for professionals, such as guardians, to identify suitably qualified practitioners when representation of a child is required.

Prism Family Law Solicitors Resolution Accreditation

Resolution, which was formerly known as the Solicitors Family Law Association (SFLA), is an organisation of 6,500 family lawyers and other professionals in England and Wales, who believe in a constructive, non-confrontational approach to family law matters. Resolution also campaigns for improvements to the family justice system.

Resolution supports the development of family lawyers through its national and regional training programmes, through publications and good practice guides and through its accreditation scheme. Resolution also trains and accredits mediators and is the only body providing training and support for collaborative lawyers in England and Wales.

The cornerstone of membership of Resolution is adherence to the Code of Practice, which sets out the principles of a non-confrontational approach to family law matters. The principles of the code are widely recognised and have been adopted by the Law Society as recommended good practice for all family lawyers.

The code requires lawyers to deal with each other in a civilised way and to encourage their clients to put their differences aside and reach fair agreements.

At Prism Family Law, we strive to maintain high standards and ensure that clients are represented by individuals who have shown that they have and will maintain a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice in family law. Our adherence to the Resolution Code of Practice and accreditations with the Law Society demonstrate our abilities and expertise.
